What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are ultra-thin shells made of porcelain or composite material that are bonded to the outer surface of the teeth to improve their color, shape, size, or alignment. It is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments because the results are immediate, very natural, and long-lasting, and in many cases require virtually no removal of tooth structure.

At Hernández & Espuelas, we use Digital Smile Design (DSD) to plan the outcome before we begin: you can see what your smile will look like on screen before we start working on your teeth. No surprises, no improvisation.

Results in 2 or 3 visits

Unlike orthodontics, veneers can transform your smile in just a few weeks, without months of treatment.

Digital Smile Design (DSD)

We digitally plan the final result before we begin. You’ll see your new smile on the screen and approve it yourself before we do anything.

With or without carving

Depending on your situation, we can place veneers without removing any of your natural tooth, preserving as much of your enamel as possible.

All types of cases

Who is this treatment for?

Veneers can address several cosmetic issues at once in just a few visits. If there’s something about your smile that you’re not happy with (the color, shape, size, or minor irregularities), they’re very likely the quickest and most effective solution for you.

Stained or discolored teeth

Some stains do not respond to whitening treatments—whether caused by tetracyclines, fluorosis, or the nature of the enamel. Veneers permanently cover these stains and look completely natural.

Small, worn, or gapped teeth

If you have asymmetrical teeth, worn edges, or gaps between your teeth, veneers can even out their shape and close those gaps without orthodontic treatment.

Fractured teeth or teeth with chipped edges

Veneers restore the shape and integrity of the tooth while giving it a completely new and natural appearance.

Do you want a complete smile makeover?

If you’re looking to transform your entire smile quickly and permanently, smile design with veneers is the most comprehensive option available today.

Types of Dental Veneers

The choice of material and technique depends on the result you’re looking for, the condition of your enamel, and how much of your natural tooth you want to preserve. During your first visit, we’ll explain which option is best for you.

porcelain veneers

Porcelain Veneers

The gold standard in cosmetic dentistry. Ultra-thin, highly durable, and with a translucency that perfectly mimics natural enamel. The most aesthetic and long-lasting result on the market, with a lifespan of 15 to 20 years.

composite veneers

Composite Veneers

They are done during the same visit, by shaping the material directly onto the tooth. They are more affordable and reversible, although they require more maintenance and are less durable than porcelain restorations.

non-carved veneers

No-prep veneers

An ultra-conservative technique that allows us to place veneers without removing any of your enamel—or with minimal enamel removal. Ideal if you have small teeth or want to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible. Not everyone is a candidate for this procedure, but we’ll assess your case during your first visit.

Zirconia veneers

Zirconia veneers

Recommended when greater strength is needed. More opaque than porcelain but very durable, especially for patients with mild bruxism or in areas that require greater structural strength.

Testimonials

What do our patients say?

At Hernández & Espuelas, every patient has a different story, but they all have one thing in common: they came in with a question or a problem and left with a solution. Here’s what they’ve told us.

I’m very happy—the service was very friendly. Álvaro took care of me; he was very courteous and professional.

Santi

I’d been thinking about improving my smile for a while, but the idea of having my teeth filed down put me off. When they explained to me that with no-prep veneers, they wouldn’t have to touch any part of my natural teeth, I felt much more at ease. Dr. Molina showed me the design on the screen before we started, and I could see exactly how it was going to look. The result was exactly what they showed me.

Juanjo P.

I’d always been self-conscious about the color and shape of my teeth, but I’d never gotten around to doing anything about it. What surprised me most was that, before we started, they showed me on a screen what my smile would look like. Being able to see it before making the decision gave me a lot of confidence. The process was incredibly fast—in just a few visits, I had my veneers in, and the transformation is amazing.

How do we do it?

Step-by-Step Guide to Dental Veneer Treatment

Veneers are one of the fastest treatments in cosmetic dentistry. In most cases, the entire process is completed in three visits. We’ll walk you through each step so you’ll know exactly what to expect when you arrive for your first appointment.

1

Initial Visit and Aesthetic Assessment

We analyze your smile, your skin tone, the shape of your face, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We take clinical photos and explain which type of veneer is best suited for you. No obligation.

2

Digital Smile Design (DSD)

We digitally design your new smile and show you the results on screen before we begin. We adjust the shape, size, and color until you’re completely satisfied with what you see.

3

Tooth Preparation

Depending on the type of veneer chosen, we either remove a minimal amount of enamel or leave the tooth completely untouched. We take a digital scan for the lab and place temporary veneers if necessary.

4

Placement of Permanent Veneers

We receive the veneers from the lab and bond them using a high-strength cementation system. We adjust the bite and verify that the result is exactly what we designed together.

5

Inspection and Maintenance

We’ll schedule a follow-up appointment in a few weeks to make sure everything is in perfect condition. With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, your veneers will last for many years.
